Mountaineer & Adventurer Staartjes, Guest Speaker at TITANIUM EUROPE 2017, To Provide a High-Altitude Perspective on Life, Business Challenges

The International Titanium Association (ITA), Denver, Colorado USA, will host the fifth annual TITANIUM EUROPE 2017 conference and exhibition on May 17-19 at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The gathering, a platform to gain insights into the European titanium industry, will serve as a premier networking venue for business executives.

As a special guest speaker for the event, Katja Staartjes, who hails from the Netherlands, will share the inspiration she has found in conquering the world's highest mountains. Her presentation, "Together to the Summit," will draw from her insights and experiences as a mountaineer, adventurer, professional coach, author and motivational speaker.

Staartjes is the first Dutch woman to climb Mount Everest and has scaled the challenging peaks of the Nepalese Himalayas. According to information posted on her website, Staartjes draws parallels between rigorous mountain climbing and the complex challenges found in business and daily life. She shares her experiences in the mountains and in business "not only as a speaker and writer, but also as a trainer and coach. This is about helping teams and individuals to grow."

Seventeen years ago she founded her business, "Katja Staartjes Inspiratie" and is the author of three books, one of which, "Peak Performance," has been translated into English. The focus of her work involves providing motivation to people and organizations to climb their respective "mountains" and achieve desired goals. "The key words are dream, challenge, inspiration, and growth," she says.

Through her inspirational words and stunning photographs of high-altitude mountain scenery, Staartjes' adventures provide a commentary on addressing business issues, citing themes such as team spirit, trust and resilience.

In June 2015, Staartjes was nominated as a "Nepal Goodwill Ambassador" by the Nepalese government, along with 16 other international mountaineers. This was part of an effort to help stimulate tourism and rebuild the country, following a devastating earthquake on April 25, 2015 that killed 9,000 people and injured 22,000.

Along with Staartjes, industry executives and business analysts will provide outlooks on titanium world supply and demand, illuminate developments on the ever-lengthening global supply chain, offer forecasts on near-term business trends, and report on the dynamics of new industrial markets and innovative products. Last year's event was held in Paris and drew 400 attendees.
