To disseminate the location of existing published resources for the spectrum of safety related on behalf of titanium suppliers, users and first responders.
To promote awareness of human health & safety practices within the titanium industry based on existing published resources.
The committee will host a minimum of 6 Members who agree to devote time to Board approved projects by the 2-Year Plan consisting of a voluntary chairperson from an ITA member company appointed by and responsible to the ITA Applications Committee Chair. The term office is 3 years commencing January 1, not to exceed 2 consecutive terms.
The committee’s business and agenda will be reviewed and endorsed by the Board during the Board’s periodic, approximately quarterly, meetings.
The chairperson will work in close collaboration with the Committee volunteers and with the ITA Executive Director who acts as coordinator for all Board and Committees business and activities. ITA may employ a consultant or field technical representative to assist with projects on an as needed basis, as permitted through the approved budget.
Minutes of Safety Committee activities will be published periodically in association with the Board meetings.
The current scope of the Safety Committee includes:
I. Disseminate existing published resources to suppliers and users of titanium products through Titanium Today magazine, committee meetings, ITA website and TITANIUM Conferences.
II. Provide referral list of safety related services & products through the Titanium Resource Center.
III. Develop on-line awareness programs from existing published resources.
IV. Encourage safety committee members to participate in other organization standards and compliance groups.
V. Host regular meetings where the industry may have a forum to discuss occurrences and to discuss how to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
As the industry and ITA membership grows, it is anticipated that the current scope will be expanded not only to enhance the above areas but to consolidate and plan additional activities based upon suggestions from its membership.
