Industrial Committee MAP Call for Abstracts - International Titanium Association

DENVER, Colorado —International Titanium Association (ITA), is sponsoring one full day track of presentations at the upcoming Managing Aging Plants Conference. The ITA Global Industrial Applications Committee is seeking a minimum of 10-12 technically related presentations on a variety of topics related to aging infrastructure, corrosion control and use of titanium or other Corrosion Resistant Alloys to solve issues in these aging plants in the Chemical Processing, Oil & Gas and related industries.

Topics of interest could include: New Alloys to solve Old or New Problems; Failures and solutions - including use of New MOCs; Availability of Old Alloys and compatibility with New Alloys; Materials solving problems in Chlor Alkali service; Explosive Clad Equipment with disbond areas – how to identify and how to repair; Differences and Similarities with repair of Corrosion Resistant Alloys in process equipment; On-site welding of CRAs in Chemical Plants; CRA welder training and quality assurance – in-house welders vs. contracted “expert” welders; Understanding Corporate Culture & Effect on Scheduled Maintenance vs Capital Expenditures; Analyzing Corrosion Failures of CRAs in Chemical Plants – methodology, MSE’s, plant culture; “Upgrading” equipment with newer alloys vs continuing use of “proven” alloys; Training of engineers on newer technologies in regards to Alloys and Corrosion Control; How to effectively monitor wall thickness in High Alloy vessels; Hydride detection methods on titanium; Pluses and Minuses of Having Multiple MOC’s in the same process stream

Experts are invited to submit an abstract for a detailed Power Point presentation at the Conference. Speakers will be allocated 25 minutes (to include 5 minutes for questions).

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by technical experts at the International Titanium Association in conjunction with the MAP Conference Steering Committee. Authors will be contacted as soon as their abstract is accepted.

The Call for Presentations Deadline is June 30, 2018.

The Managing Aging Plants conference will host slide presentations and will not require formal written papers from speakers

ITA reserves, and the undersigned hereby conveys to ITA, the non-exclusive right to copy or otherwise tape, record, and use the above-identified presentation/article at ITA’s Conference and thereafter, and the undersigned waives any and all rights in and claims to compensation for the taping, reproduction, and all other subsequent use and sale by ITA of such materials and all copies thereof.
ITA reserves, and the undersigned hereby conveys to ITA, the non-exclusive right to use the undersigned’s name, likeness, portrait, voice and/or bibliographic material in order to advertise, promote and publicize ITA’s Conference and any recordings of the presentation / article which may be used or offered for sale by ITA.

ITA reserves, and the undersigned hereby conveys to ITA, the non-exclusive right to republish the presentation/article, or excerpts there from, or allow third-parties to make, use or purchase copies thereof subject to terms and conditions established by ITA, without obtaining further permission from the undersigned.

ITA reserves, and the undersigned hereby conveys to ITA, the non-exclusive right to use all or part of the presentation/article in compilations or other publications developed by ITA or at its direction, including in ITA’s on-line library and on ITA’s web home page.

The Undersigned represents and warrants to ITA that he/she has the right to make this Agreement and assignment and that this Agreement and the assignment made herein does not interfere with the rights any other person(s) may have in or to the presentation/article or subject matter set forth herein.

The Undersigned will comply with all ITA Anti-Trust Guidelines and the Undersigned’s presentation will not include any reference, visual or verbal, to the price, terms, and conditions at which Titanium has been, is, or will be sold. The Undersigned understands that even the use of previously published and generally available information on Titanium pricing is prohibited.

The Undersigned will comply with all ITA Presentation Guidelines and the Undersigned’s presentation will not include advertising material and, while presenting the trends, processes, and applications for Titanium, will not present specific products or services offered or sold to the Titanium Industry or its customers. Speakers may present limited general background information for themselves and their company, but must not mention specific products or activities.
